Abstract: Using the Current Population Survey Food Security Supplement, this study analyzed food insecurity trends of AI/ANs from 2000 to 2010. Findings show that 25% of AI/ANs remained consistently food insecure and were twice as likely to experience food insecurity compared to whites, with urban AI/ANs experiencing higher rates than rural AI/ANs. The study highlights the need for national and tribal policies to expand food assistance programs and increase access to healthy foods.
