BOLIVIAN PRESIDENT MEETS WITH INDIGENOUS LEADERS IN NEW YORK

Tuesday at the American Indian Community House (AICH) in lower New York, Bolivian President Evo Morales spoke to Indian leaders, and received a proclamation from New York City Council Members.

At 10am, at the American Indian Community House (AICH) in the Bowling Green section of New York, President Evo Morales of Bolivia gathered with Native American leaders from across the Western Hemisphere to discuss the achievements of his administration in assisting the rural poor of Bolivia. The AICH is a Native American social services and arts organization that has been a longstanding fixture in New York City. The leaders were and still are present in New York City for the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), a yearly meeting aimed at human rights issues and other problems placating Indigenous peoples.
