Abstract: National Association of Community Health Centers, Inc. March 2004 Bulletin # 8 “Legislative and Political Advocacy for Health Centers: Allowable Scope of Public Policy Activities” - March 2004.

Health centers, in addition to being providers of high-quality and culturally competent primary health care, often view themselves as advocates on behalf of their patients on health care and health care-related issues facing low-income and medically underserved populations, their views may be especially persuasive to policy makers and, in fact, often are sought out for that reason.
