Discrimination in the United States: Experiences of Native Americans

Abstract: This national study examines reported racial discrimination and harassment against Native Americans across institutional domains including healthcare, education, employment, housing, and interaction with law enforcement. Findings indicate that 23% of Native Americans report discrimination in clinical encounters, while 15% avoid seeking health care out of fear of discrimination, demonstrating systemic barriers to care.
