SDPI Reauthorization Letter Jan 2018

Authors: NCUIH

Publication Year: 2018

Last Updated: 2019-06-07

Journal: NCUIH

Keywords: SDPI, UIHP, re-authorization

Short Abstract:

Dear Speaker Ryan:

On behalf of the National Indian Health Board, the National Congress of American Indians, and the National Council of Urban Indian Health, are writing to ask for your support for a long-term reauthorization of the Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI), which expires on March 31, 2018. It would be a tragedy for this highly effective and popular program to expire for the first time since its creation due to Congressional inaction. Therefore, we request that the Congressional leadership include a long-term SDPI reauthorization in the next moving legislative vehicle, including the February 2018 Continuing Resolution or budget agreement.
