NCUIH Biweekly JHU COVID Report in UIO Service Areas (04/25/2021)

Abstract:

This National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) report provides information on COVID statistics in UIO service areas from April 2021. Key takeaways from this report include:

  • As of April 24, 2021, 89,705 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across UIOs, and 35,182 patients were fully vaccinated at this point, 35.37 % of the IHS COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force's targeted population goal
  • Between April 17, 2021 and April 24, 2021 UIO's in the California region administered the most vaccines (3,251 doses); UIO's in the Navajo region administered the fewest vaccines (38 doses). 
  • There are 436,066 AI/AN people living in the counties with the top 10 most new cases, and 85.26 % (371,775) of these people live in areas served by a UIO.
  • Four UIOs are in the top 10 counties by new COVID-19 cases.
