Abstract: As the President of the National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH), and on behalf of the 36 urban Indian health clinics serving over 150,000 patients annually, I write to request your support for H.R. 1328, the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA). In February the Senate passed S.1200, the Senate version of the IHCIA, by an overwhelming veto-proof vote of 83-10. This vote gives us the opportunity for the enactment of a reauthorization bill this Session, but only with your support. On June 6th all three Committees of jurisdiction: Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, and the Natural Resources announced that they have completed all consideration of the bill. IHCIA is ready for the floor of the House. We ask you stand up for all American Indians and Alaska Natives and support this bill.
