What is the Knowledge Resource Center?
The Knowledge Resource Center (KRC) is a keyword-searchable resource devoted to the dissemination of knowledge on urban American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) health across the United States. This knowledge bank aims to the lack of information that urban AI/AN people and their communities face and contains informational tools to educate Urban Indian Organizations (UIOs), policymakers, federal officials, and the public.
Information about articles on the KRC
Is all the content on the KRC developed by NCUIH?
No, many of the articles on the KRC are from other sources such as peer-reviewed journals or resources from other organizations i.e. the CDC. Resources developed by NCUIH staff are all found under the “NCUIH-Developed Resources” tab on the KRC home page.
Who posts to the KRC?
NCUIH’s Communications and Research & Data Team update and post to the KRC. Many of the articles and resources posted to the KRC are submitted by other NCUIH staff, NCUIH partner organizations, or UIO staff.
Are all KRC posts specific to urban Native communities?
Some resources will not specifically state that they are for an urban Native population, but these are still relevant to the community. For example, the CDC infographic on MPox is not specific to the Native community but is still relevant for UIOs and the communities they serve.
What is a One-Pager?
A One-Pager is a document summarizing a peer-reviewed journal article that is not publicly available due to paywalls. NCUIH staff summarize the main points and highlights of the article into a one-page document so it is available to the KRC viewers.
How often is the KRC updated?
NCUIH’s KRC Team work to update the KRC weekly.
Can I submit things to be shared on the KRC?

How do I contact the authors of a NCUIH-developed resource?
To contact an author of a NCUIH-developed resource, please reach out to the research@ncuih.org and list the named authors and link to the original article.

Who can view restricted KRC posts?
UIOs and NCUIH staff are only able to view restricted articles on the KRC. If you believe you should have access to a certain KRC article, please reach out to research@ncuih.org.
What is the “UIO Only Resource” tab?
The UIO Only Resource tab is an easy way to view all the restricted posts on the KRC. Only UIO and NCUIH staff can view it.
How to Login (UIO staff)?
If you are a UIO staff member you can email us at research@ncuih.org using your UIO email and we will share your login information with you.
Why are some of the posts restricted?
Restricted documents contain sensitive data exclusive to UIOs and/or copyright prohibitions us against public distribution.
Will my old UIO staff login from 2023 work on the new KRC?
No, NCUIH updated the KRC in Spring 2024, which require new usernames and passwords. Please email research@ncuih.org for your new login.
