Short Abstract:

Dear XXXXXX,

On behalf of the National Council of Urban Indian Health and the over 150,000 patients we serve annually, I would like to thank you for supporting the Interior Appropriations Budget with the significant increase for the Indian Health Service.

By supporting this increase in funds sought by President Obama and Indian leaders, you have helped uphold the trust responsibility to Indian people. Congress has repeatedly recognized the solemn responsibility to provide health care for Indian people regardless of where they reside through various pieces of legislation including the Indian Health Care Improvement Act which the House recently passed as part of H.R. 3962.
